Spotlight Saturday!

Spotlight Saturday!
A tribute to our beloved Pets!

Today this spotlight Saturday is going to be short and about pets.
Why?  Well one of my dearest kittens is very ill.
We had to seperate him from his little sister and had to add him into a big rabbit bench.
That was so hard to do! But if not... I would have lots and lots more trouble.

Brother and Sister, Flip and Floor.

And this made me realise how dear my Cat Friends are to me. And that they are like children to me. They bring me so much joy and sometimes sorrow and pain.

I'm curious about your pets in your life! I want to ask you to tell us about them. Please show them to us and tell about them... how they play, how the act and react on things, there favorite things to play with... etc.
You can do this in the comment down below or on your blog and leave a link in the comment down under.

And today I would love to show card with pets on it.

I hope to see and read all your stories about the love for your animals.

Thanks for reading and leaving your story!

Michelle Perkett Studio Magnificent Mermaid!

Welcome to Magnificent Mermaid Thursday here at Michelle Perkett Studio,
today I'd like to introduce you to Tammy!

I have been married to a wonderful man for 20 yrs!   We have 1 dog (Quinn) and 1 cat (Meadow)
I live in Colorado...and we love to hike, cross country ski and go camping.  We enjoy anything outdoors and anything to keep us healthy!

I don't work anymore...but had been in the Travel Industry for 19 years.  The first 8 years I worked as an leisure travel agent.  Air, hotels, cars, cruises, trains, tours...you name it I booked it!! I even booked a couple of safaris!  Then the last 11 years I worked as a government contractor and arranged  Domestic and International corporate travel!

My favorite embellishment is buttons...I love buttons and I have a ton.  I started collecting them when I was a teen and doing a lot of sewing.

It's so hard to pick!  I think it would be a tie between Cutie Patootie and the Amore Fairy!   I have colored each one several times..I love these images!

My stamping style is a little on the Clean and Simple side.  I want the image to be the main focus of each card.

My favorite part of stamping is coloring or watercoloring!  I find it extremely therapeutic and It's helped me so much!!. Because I have been living off and on with Cancer for many years.  This time around I'm very happy to say that I have been in remission... for 2 years, 2 months and 8 days-YEAH!  ...and that's also about the same time I started stamping!   I've always been crafty...sewing, quilting, jewelry making...but by far I think stamping and card making is the best therapy ever!

I'm not working on any non-card projects at this time.  The few cards a week that I complete keeps me very busy.

I have not been published ....I've never submitted a card for publication.  I would love to give it a try sometime!

My new love and coloring medium is Copics!   I feel like a little girl when I have all of my markers out on the craft table!  Trying to pick the perfect color combo is so fun!

I think my blog is also a very Clean and Simple blog.  Only cards and a few pictures of my fur babies are on it now.

I hope you enjoyed getting to know Tammy a little better as much as I have!  If you'd like to see more of her beautiful art work please stop by her blog My Craft Central, thanks for sharing with us Tammy!

I'd also like to remind you that there are a couple of days left to enter into our Autumn Leaves challenge here

Spotlight Saturday!

Spotlight Saturday!

Wow another week has gone by and before I knew it the weekend is here.
I love weekends... it's gives me the feeling that all the time is mine.

Today I have to make tough choices... let me tell you a bit about them...
I live in the Netherlands and our weather is not so steady and since it's October already I was prepared for rain and storms and leaves all over the streets.
We had this kind of weather already in September... not a pleasant way to say goodby to summer.
But today it's so sunny and bright and warm. I could sit in bikini on my balcony!!!
How strange is that??? And now my though decision making...
What will I do... will I stay inside and color on the beautiful images from Michelle that are in her STORE or will I go outside and enjoy the weather... looking at the trees and see how their leaves turn into such a magnificent colors.
Well... I think that I even go to the beach... and see how summer is ending there... how the beach house will be pulled apart... and who knows... perhaps I can see a Mermaid in the sea that comes to say by till next summer!

And Michelle has so many magnificent mermaids... I think that it would be great to bring them under your attention again.
So here they are... all made by our fabulous teams of mermaids:

MP White on white
Serena, just Breathe mermaid is colored by Claire.

Camille the Mermaid is colored by Marion

Mermaid
Eva the Glam mermaid is colored by Melissa

My BFF
and Tammy colored these Best Friends forever!

Now I hope that you all like them as much a s I do....
So I hope that you all join this weeks challenge with some lovely mermaids!

Oh and stay tuned and be back next Weekend!!!
Then there will be a fabulous
FULL MOON FEVER BLOG HOP!
If you want to join us please go HERE and enter your name and blog!

Oh and almost forgot to say... don't forget our fabulous challenge over HERE!

Thanks for reading and leaving me a lovely comment.

Magnificent Mermaid Thursday!

It’s Magnificent Mermaid Thursday and I’d like to introduce you to Melissa!

Hi Melissa, tell us a little about yourself!  Are you married, do you have kids, where do you live?

“I live in a very small rural town, Hinckley Illinois.    My husband and I have been married for 24 years and we have 4 children, ages 16, 12, 8 and 6.  We also have 5 dogs and 1 cat.”

Do you have a job other than stamping?

“My real job, is being a stay at home mom, however with my youngest now in school all day I’m not sure that title applies anymore.”

How did you get interested and start stamping?

After my oldest son was born I started scrapbooking which led to stamping.  My first stamp set was alphabets so I wouldn’t need to continue to buy alphabet stickers.  It was probably about 5 years later that I really started collecting stamps and my collection just keeps on growing!”

Can you tell us what your favorite embellishment is and why?

I don’t think I can pick just one favorite embellishment.  I’m very fond of flowers and rhinestones right now, plus I almost always use stickers in some way to embellish.”

Do you have a favorite stamp set from Michelle Perkett Studio?
“I love ALL of Michelle’s stamps but my favorites are the mermaids and fairies.  I love the flowing lines and all the detail she does when she creates these.”

How would you describe your stamping style?
“I don’t really have a style of stamping unless you consider “messy” a style.  Right now I am very much into the whole digital stamp thing so my inkpads don’t get the workout they used to.”

What’s your favorite part of stamping?
My favorite part of stamping is working with digital stamps.  I love that you can change the size of image so it’s the size you want, plus it’s easy to print multiple images that are perfect each time.”
What is your favorite non-card type project?
I like to alter containers and boxes, or do a scrapbook page now and then.”
 Have you ever been published?
Yes, I have been in Scrapbook News and Review Magazine.”

Can you tell us about your favorite coloring medium and why you like it?
My Copics.  I love everything about them but especially how they flawlessly blend together to create just the color you want.”

Tell us a little about your blog…

My blog is mostly about my projects but I do occasionally share some of my “life” and show pictures of the kids and dogs.”
Here's one of Melissa's gorgeous cards for our viewing pleasure!  If you'd like to see more of her art work please visit her blog Needful Things.   I hope you enjoyed getting to know Melissa a little better today as much as I have!

I'd also like to remind you today of our "Flower Parade" challenge, you have until Monday, October 18th to make your card or project and enter here!  There will be a prize drawn by random.org and announced right here Monday evening!
