Polly, Dolly & William

Introducing Polly, Dolly & William a new release at our Michelle Perkett Studio Etsy store!  

Our first card was made by Marilyn.  Aren't her flowers gorgeous?!  I love the colors she chose too!

Our second card was made by me, Jan.  It's a tri fold card with lots of room on the inside for a letter to a loved one.   I was thinking it would be a nice one for Operation Write Home when I was making it.

And, our third card was made by me, Jan.  It's one of those happy accidents.  I wanted to pop the balloon on my first card so I cut it out and attached it with foam tape and had the remainder of the printed image left.  I'd cut into Polly's bow in her hair by accident but William didn't have to go to waste!  One of my favorite color combinations is red, white, blue and kraft.  He was perfect for it!

Spotlight Saturday!

Spotlight Saturday again!

Today is another saturday. This week me and the kids made some changes in the livingroom.

We placed the couch different and made the room ready for being more inside the house.

The weather is a bit moody now and then so we spent more time inside. 

Now that is not a bad thing cause that gives me more time to be creative. 

And I love to light a candle in the evening when it's dark sooner.

Do you girls make changes in your home at the end of the summer? Do you have things that you stash away till next summer and other stuff that comes out in this time of the year?

Talking about candle's. I wanted to show you this perfect project that is made by 

Claire!

She made this stunning Jar with Mermaid Camille on it.

You can find her HERE in the store.

She inked the candle jar with Alcohol ink and colored Camille so perfectly and added 

her to the jar. Imagine that there is a little candle in there that shines it's light around and that the shades of Camille are playing on the table...

I love how creative Claire is. You should give her blog a look and leave her a lovely comment!

I wanted to take a moment to share Willow The Autumn Fairy with you once again, she's a new release  in Michelle's Esty store this week.  As you can see from the photo above she's a stunning uncolored digital image and below our very talented Mermaid Mari has brought her to life!

Magnificent Mermaid Thursday

Hello and welcome to Michelle Perkett Studio Magnificent Mermaid Thursday!

 I’d like to introduce you to Claire today!

Claire lives in the UK with her husband, her son, 2 German shepherds and parrot. She’s only been married to her lovely husband for just over a year, he's great and doesn't mind all the time she spends crafting as it leaves him free to watch sports on TV.

Claire works full time for a mental health charity, a great job.  She loves it as she works with some wonderful people. Her job is very busy and can be stressful so crafting helps her to relax

Claire saw someone stamping on TV and thought it looked fun so she bought some stamps about 5/6 years ago and now she says she’s  totally addicted. She’s gone from a few stamps in a shoe box to taking over the spare bedroom and she’s running out of space in there now lol.

Claire’s favorite embellishment is ribbon; she says, “You can do so much with it apart from just tie a bow”. She loves to try and make little embellishments with ribbon from flowers to little ribbon fish

When asked what her favorite stamp of Michelle’s would be she said,  “I love all Michelle's stamps, I came across Michelle's art when I first started blogging and fell in love with all her beautiful characters. My favourite changes all the time, today it is Eva the Glam Mermaid (that’s because I'm just colouring her lol) but I think I’ve used Snow Goddess the most. I've made so many Christmas cards with her, she is just beautiful.”

Claire told me she doesn’t have a particular style of stamping, she loves everything from cute to grungy stuff and likes to keep some variety in her work.

Claire loves colouring, she thinks its so relaxing and she also loves to make her own backgrounds and she loves combining digi stamps with rubber stamps. She said she’s on a tight budget so she also enjoys making her own backing papers and embellishments too

She loves altered art. She gets so much fun from taking something she would throw away and turning it into something beautiful (hopefully) she also likes making ATCs and Fat Book Pages and swapping them with other crafters.

Claire also enjoys jewelry making, she loves seed bead stitching and tries to use some elements on her cards.

She usually uses Promarkers as they are fab for shading and so easy to get a good result. She also loves inktense pencils as their colours are so rich and also painting with H2O's as they are so shimmery and pretty.

Claire loves blogging, she started her blog when she was off work over Christmas and she’s made so many new friends. There are so many talented crafters out there you can always find inspiration and ideas.

Finally weekend has began! We can all be crafty and creative for some days now..

I know I love the weekends... for me it's starts at the friday afternoon. I do my weekendshopping in the morning, put it away and then the weekend can begin.

There are so many beautiful cards made with the fantastic images from Michelle.

We thought that we would love to bring them back and show you that they still are so beautiful

So we start this week with an image that is called

AIR 

She is a goddess and is part of the collection of four seasons images.

What this image made so special to me was the text that is above it...

It's so true and sometimes to hard to keep up with!

Michelle Perkett Studio Featured Mermaid Thursday

Hello and welcome to Michelle Perkett Studio featured Mermaid Thursday!

I’d like to introduce you to Mari today!   Mari is one of our newest design team members and lives with her family in Texas. Mari has been paper crafting for about ten years and has a spare room that she uses for her studio.

Mari has lived all over the world; Germany, Japan, Korea and Portugal. She’s also lived all over the United States. Mari has three adult children; her oldest child is adopted from Korea and currently lives in California with her husband and soon to be one year old son. Mari’s other daughter lives in Oklahoma with her five year old son; and Mari’s son is a student at Texas A&M who is currently studying in Jordan. His wife is very anxious for him to come home soon. Mari’s husband just left for Iraq, while he is currently a civilian, he and Mari are both Air Force veterans. Mari and her husband met while they were stationed in Germany.

And now, one of Mari’s wonderful cards!

Mari used Michelle's new Hugs Before School image for her card.  I love her neutral color palette and the books above her image are very creative!  I wonder if she made those herself?   To find out you can visit her at her Trails Of Paper blog, be sure to leave her a comment so she knows your were there!
